Providing you with a flexible platform to support your engagement with open education practices.<\/p>\n<p>Whether for your school, project, collaborative network, institution or organisation and whether you intend to share your resources locally, regionally or world-wide\u00a0our\u00a0<em>EdShare<\/em>\u00a0solution can be customised to meet your needs, allowing you to host, manage, share and collaborate on teaching and learning resources in one place.<\/p>\n<p>Over the past year EPrints HQ has been busy migrating the original\u00a0<em>EdShare<\/em>\u00a0developed from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.edspace.ecs.soton.ac.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">EdSpace <\/a>and <a href=\"http:\/\/oneshare.ecs.soton.ac.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">OneShare <\/a>projects\u00a0to be compatible with the latest EPrints 3.3 core but this is only the beginning and we are committed to supporting institutions with\u00a0their policies and practices for open education.<\/p>\n<p>This migration was an essential stepping stone, we are already\u00a0working\u00a0in collaboration with others in the higher education community to develop the platform further to start to bridge the divide between emerging digital learning spaces and existing practices.<\/p>\n<h2><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.eprints.org\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/edshare_frontpage_sml.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-718 size-medium\" style=\"box-shadow: 0 2px 6px rgba(100, 100, 100, 0.3);\" src=\"http:\/\/www.eprints.org\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/edshare_frontpage_sml-295x300.png\" alt=\"EdShare Frontpage\" width=\"295\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/uk.eprints-hosting.org\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/edshare_frontpage_sml-295x300.png 295w, https:\/\/uk.eprints-hosting.org\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/edshare_frontpage_sml-420x427.png 420w, https:\/\/uk.eprints-hosting.org\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/edshare_frontpage_sml.png 503w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 295px) 100vw, 295px\" \/><\/a><\/strong>So what&#8217;s changed?<\/h2>\n<p>The first thing to say is EdShare on EPrints 3.3 core is a stepping stone, we have retained many of the features from the original version but also\u00a0added a number of improvements<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Multiple derivatives of Video and Audio files<\/li>\n<li>HTML5 now used to render Video and Audio previews providing greater compatibility across devices<\/li>\n<li>Embed codes &#8211; display resources in other websites or learning environments<\/li>\n<li>Now utilising packages from the Bazaar which have themselves been enhanced (MePrints, IRStats2)<\/li>\n<li>Bug fixes to the original version<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.eprints.org\/uk\/index.php\/openeducation\/key-features\/\" target=\"_blank\">See an extended list of features here<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>How can I get <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">EdShare<\/span>?<\/h2>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">EdShare<\/span> <\/em>is only available from EPrints Services, please contact <a href=\"mailto:info@services.eprints.org\" target=\"_blank\">info@services.eprints.org<\/a> for further information.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Building upon the success of the educational content sharing platform EdShare from\u00a0the University of Southampton, we are pleased to bring you EPrints for Open Education on our latest EPrints core.
