Date picker<\/em>, allowing date input fields to use a jQuery based date or date range picker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Rich text<\/em> editor, allowing rich text to be entered and rendered as HTML. A drop in replacement for what has traditionally been a multiline plain text form input.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAnnotations<\/em>\u201d support. A first version of a new type of plugin, which supports being able to add arbitrary metadata to parts of the existing EPrints system. Eg administrative notes about a particular eprint field, or record. Or a threaded discussion on a deposited item or normal page. REF2021<\/strong> – We offer a support package for our customers relating to the next REF. Reporting<\/strong> – We have been working on improvements allowing for more flexible and readable reporting in EPrints, primarily in the area of producing CSV reports. This has resulted in a new public version of the Generic Reporting Framework<\/em>, as well as a drop in update to the existing Multiline CSV export feature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n![\"\"](\"http:\/\/www.eprints.org\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/orcid.png\")
ORCID<\/strong> – We have been working with contributors from the community to improve upon our ORCID integration work and are keen to expand this further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n![\"\"](\"http:\/\/www.eprints.org\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/docker.png\")
Docker<\/strong> – EPrints is easier to try than ever now, there is now an example service wrapped up in a docker container. Preservation<\/strong> – We are working with Archivematica and Concordia to help produce an EPrints\/Archivematica plugin to support repository content preservation activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n EPrints 3.4.2 core development<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Accessibility<\/strong> – We have been working with Accessibility and User Experience experts to improve EPrints in these important areas and are applying changes to EPrints core.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Subtitles<\/strong> – We are adding better support for video captioning throughout EPrints and EdShare. We are currently investigating options for integrating with automated captioning services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Citation caching – for faster page rendering, especially search results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Enabling all Datasets to optionally have \u2018history\u2019 – so audit trails of changes can easily be seen for more of the repository.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Text-based access tables – allowing access tables to be funnelled off to compressed text files resulting in a much smaller database.<\/p>\n\n\n\n REF2021<\/strong> – We will continue our support of REF activities in the EPrints context.<\/p>\n\n\n\n ORCID<\/strong> – There is interest in further work in this area, so we are very likely to expand upon the existing offerings. ResourceSync <\/strong>– We are investigating working with ResourceSync, allowing EPrints to interoperate with even more systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n GDPR<\/strong> – To work with the community to produce tools to help manage GDPR requests within EPrints. Providing a toolset for deeper searches and bulk data removal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n EPrints 3.4.3 core development<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Integrate the new default ingredients, so date picker<\/em> and rich text<\/em> are better supported by default configurations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Add lower level support for annotations<\/em> at a core level, so these can be used more effectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Investigate new workflow layouts, as more fields are added over time, especially in the publications repository case, the deposit workflow can become unwieldy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Support multiple dates at core level, rather than via the DatesDatesDates<\/em> plugin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Add improved support for multiple record identifiers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n More plugin ingredients to bundled with public EPrints: Xapian facets<\/em>, offering guided searches of EPrints content.
